EARLY CONNECTIONS INSTITUTE
Early Connections Institute (ECI) is a specialized program offered within Perspectives Therapy Services aimed at promoting early relationships and mental health for women and young children. ECI offers therapeutic services for pregnant mothers as well as mothers with children ages birth to 6 years. This innovative program is inspired by advances in Infant Mental Health, a therapeutic modality which supports early relationships of infants, toddlers and their families. At ECI we know that mental health truly starts during pregnancy and at birth. It is well documented in research that having sensitive and consistent early relationships serve as the best predictor for positive outcomes in childhood, adolescence and adulthood. At ECI we are devoted to creating strong foundations for mothers and young children to reduce the possible need for mental health services later on in life.
ECI program offers a variety of early intervention therapeutic services for children and families. Services are provided to support critical developmental stages including pregnancy, birth/delivery, post-partum period and children from ages birth to 6 years. Our program uses a variety of therapeutic modalities which are designed to support the parent-child relationship and are tailored to meet each family’s unique needs and concerns. This includes mental health treatment for parents and expectant mothers, while also including developmental screenings, relational play therapy and developmental guidance for young children and families.
Services offered can include treatment for the following:
Adjustment difficulties or mental health concerns during pregnancy
Post-partum depression, anxiety and mood disorders
Difficulty bonding with baby
Developmental concerns for infants and young children
Mental/emotional/ behavioral concerns for children 6 years and younger
Parents and/or children with history of trauma
