Freedom from fear, shame, anger, and hopelessness is always possible. I use a strengths-based perspective to help my clients find that freedom, using their natural resources. Starting where you are at helps us form a mutual bond, create a safe space to rest from the difficulties of life, and explore stress at a natural pace. It is always an honor and privilege to be brought into the reality you uniquely experience; I look forward to every encounter.
It can be so hard to seek therapy. Whether stigma, determination, or fear keeps you from going, the choice tends to come after a lot of other things haven’t worked. Thank you for braving something new and being willing to talk to someone, even if you are not entirely sure what you are willing to share yet. I will offer you respect, open communication, and a willingness to get creative to make sure our time together to find healing, safety, and stability.
Perinatal mood disorders (e.g. anxiety and depression during pregnancy and postpartum), grief and loss, generalized anxiety, adjustment difficulties (e.g. changes in work, school, home, etc.), and depression.
What do you love doing more than anything in the world? More than anything else, I love spending time with my husband and daughter, exploring new places together.
What is the self-care strategy you use most often? Reading books always makes me feel better–a couple of my favorites to fall back on in times of extra stress are David Copperfield by Charles Dickens and the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. Secondarily, I love to bake!
What was your dream job when you were in elementary school? I could not make up my mind in elementary school! I wanted to be a writer, a baker, an artist, a chef, and a tap dancer.
What is your favorite movie of all time? Tough to decide…I always enjoy Run, Fatboy, Run; Pride and Prejudice; and Phantom of the Opera.
Describe your ideal vacation? Has it happened yet? My dream vacation would be 2 weeks in Europe, exploring away! I did this once in high school, visiting various cities in England, France, and Germany, but I would love to go again and explore Italy, Switzerland, Greece, and more.
What is the most delicious meal you can imagine? My current favorite meal is a creamy coconut, spicy chicken Thai recipe, served with quinoa and roasted vegetables. Dessert would be ice cream–something with chocolate. I love variety, so the most delicious meal to me would be just about anything besides what I had in the last 2 days.
