It is my belief that all women deserve to feel alive and live a life of joy and purpose. In our sessions together, we will work to create a counseling relationship built on safety and trust, so that you may feel free to fully express yourself and find healing for your soul. In order to have true emotional and mental wellness, a person must be seen the way they really are: a complex human-being who is made up of many different components but whose whole body functions as one. A holistic approach to mental health care is the best way to understand the connection between a person’s mind, body, and spirit.
I specialize in working with women who have experienced trauma in their past, as well as those who are struggling with feelings of anxiety and depression. I am certified in EMDR therapy, which is proven to be highly effective in reducing symptoms and negative emotions associated with trauma. I also enjoy working with couples to help them deepen their connection with each other and gain a higher level of understanding and insight into their relationship. When requested by the client, I am happy to provide Christian, faith-based counseling.

What do you love doing more than anything in the world?
Twice a month, I take my twin 4 year old daughters on what we call a “Big Girl Outing”. We leave the baby with grandma for a few hours while we go out to do something fun of their choosing. I try to give them choices of things that are a completely new experience for them. I love having this time to focus solely on them and to enjoy each other’s company. It’s easy to get caught up in the mundane tasks of daily life and this is a great way to step out of that zone for a little bit and remember what’s truly important.
What is the self-care strategy you use most often?
I have 3 young children at home and self-care for me involves making time to get out of the house and have some time to myself. My favorite things to do are go line dancing or sit at a coffee shop with a nice, hot cup of coffee in my hand.
What was your dream job when you were in elementary school?
A counselor! Ever since I can remember, I always told people that when I grew up I wanted to be a mental health therapist.
What is your favorite movie of all time?
I love the Sound of Music. I could watch it over and over again and never get tired of it.
Describe your ideal vacation? Has it happened yet?
I’m all about sand, sun, and water. For our honeymoon, my husband and I went to a resort in Cancun and ever since then it’s been my golden standard for vacations. I love to get my relaxation on!
What is the most delicious meal you can imagine?
My mom is an amazing cook, and pretty much anything she prepares is the most delicious meal ever. One of my favorite things she makes is a homemade chicken pot pie with freshly cut vegetables and a warm, flakey crust on top. Mmmmm 🙂
