I practice what I preach with a warm, open heart. I would never provide a service to my clients that I don’t use in my daily life. No matter what type of treatment I use, I always make sure to provide it with compassion.
As a social worker, I also understand that a person’s identities and lived experiences influence their mental health. I invite people of all racial and spiritual/worldview identities to seek my services. As a Filipina, I specifically encourage Asian clients to reach out as I understand firsthand the mental health stigma in our communities. As a Christian with interfaith training, I invite you to bring your faith, whether you’re devout or questioning, into your sessions.
For those experiencing depression, suicidal thoughts, or grief, I’ll hold space for you to share your darkest feelings as I help you create a life worth living. For those experiencing anxiety, OCD, or trauma, I’ll walk alongside you as you gradually face your fears that have been holding you back from the life you want to live.
Not only have I received extensive training on the most widely used evidence-based treatments, I actually use in my own life what I teach my clients. Whatever knowledge I don’t know that may help my clients, I do my homework, too. I put in just as much work for my clients as my clients do in therapy for themselves.
What do you love doing more than anything in the world?
Spending time with the people who matter most to me, of course!
What is the self-care strategy you use most often?
Running, and I honestly do it more for the mental health benefits than the physical ones!
What is the most delicious meal you can imagine?
Honestly, anything with potatoes. I love carbs!
