Philosophy

At one time or another, many of us feel as though our lives are becoming unmanageable. I believe that therapy is about change- change in the way we think, react, and/or behave in our circumstances. The relationship between client and therapist is the basis for that change. However, it does not stop there. The client must feel safe in an environment where empathy, freedom to explore, and mutual respect abound. It is my goal to provide each person who comes to Perspectives the opportunity to make those changes. By working together, we will tackle the hard and not so hard issues that are preventing you from experiencing a more joyful life.

Personal Statement

My theoretical framework of choice is cognitive-behavioral therapy. This approach allows for effective and relatively fast relief for clients as we explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are leading to problems in their life. It is my goal to provide clients a pleasant and non- threatening atmosphere where change is possible. I will serve as a compassionate cheerleader for clients who are looking to bravely shift their thinking and behaviors to bring about greater peace and satisfaction in their world.
