Changing the way we think and feel can be hard work, and at times, it is necessary to find someone to guide us in the process. Therapy should be empowering, challenging and helpful. Using both a client centered approach and cognitive behavioral therapy when appropriate; we will work together as a team to develop and test new strategies in order to meet personal goals.
The only person who will be with us for our entire life is ourselves, and who we are inside changes as we grow and experience new things. I believe we can shape ourselves to be the person we desire to become. As a therapist, I strive to create a therapeutic environment that feels safe to share thoughts and ideas, be honest and reflective, seek change, and try new things.

What do you love doing more than anything in the world?
I love both being on vacation with my family as well as planning vacations for my family. I know that might sound strange, but I love researching activities to do, where to eat, and different places to stay. Planning a trip in advance and then enjoying a well thought out itinerary is my ideal vacation!
What is the self-care strategy you use most often?
I play the french horn in a local wind symphony. Creating music as part of a group and physically feeling the music all around you is a very cathartic experience; it helps me take a breather from my week and life and gives me a chance to focus on something larger than myself. I also do my best to find time to spend time with family and friends regularly.
What was your dream job when you were in elementary school?
I wanted to be an author of children’s literature.
Describe your ideal vacation? Has it happened yet?
I like to visit new places, so my dream vacation changes often. I’ve never been to Europe or on a cruise, so those would be a dream of mine. Currently, with young children, we really enjoy our trips to Disney.
What is the most delicious meal you can imagine?
Anything that ends in chocolate cake with ice cream is pretty fantastic.
