As an insight-oriented therapist I believe change starts within the individual. I work to push my clients to be inwardly focused, bringing a warm, optimistic perspective to the therapeutic encounter. I have been influenced by experiences abroad, including research, social justice, and clinical encounters. I am dedicated to building expertise in contemporary counseling, research, and family social policy.
My primary theories of therapy include narrative and cognitive-behavioral. It is important for me to be mindful of the uniquenesses that each client brings and customize the therapeutic encounter based on what is needed. I know this may change from week to week and I strive to be flexible enough to follow the client while also providing a solid direction for change.
